Happy Days #7

It’s Autumn! And I couldn’t be happier. Autumn is my favourite season, and this week it’s just starting to feel as though the seasons are properly changing. I love the chill in the air at this time of year. I love the colours of the leaves and finding shiny conkers on the ground (a true sign I’ve turned into my Mum! She always has a car full of leaves she likes the shape of, and a pocket full of conkers that were too shiny to resist…)

This season has already brought with it lots of lovely Autumnal moments, and I can’t wait for many more!

A Center Parcs Hen Weekend

A couple of weeks ago I celebrated my lovely Cousin Freya’s Hen Weekend at Center Parcs. It felt so good to get away from London and spend some much needed time in the middle of Longleat Forest. We spent the weekend swimming, dancing, eating and drinking; possibly the perfect combination. I can’t believe she’s getting married this weekend!

Aqua Spa, Center Parcs

The Sunday evening of our weekend break was spent at the Center Parcs Spa, and this gets a whole Happy Moment of it’s own. We spent hours wandering between each of the steam rooms and saunas, relaxing in the pool and talking all things wedding. It was the perfect end to an amazing weekend and made concentrating on the drive back to London that night such a challenge!

The Rugby World Cup

Regardless of the fact that England haven been knocked out, the rugby world cup has still been so exciting. Wayne and I went to watch the France v Romania game at The Olympic Stadium a few weeks ago and had such a great time. It was a nice change from watching rugby at Twickenham and I loved experiencing a rugby game without caring about which team won. We were sat beside some amazing Romania fans who, despite the score, were clearly having the time of their lives. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric.

Slow Cooker Suppers

One of my favourite things about Autumn is my slow cooker. I realise that makes me sound like a middle aged Mum, but if you don’t have one you just won’t understand! There is nothing more perfect that piling lots of roughly chopped ingredients into the slow cooker in the morning, and coming home to the rich, mouthwatering smell of a ready to eat casserole. I’m already planning lots of slow cooker creations to get us through the next few months.

A Surbiton Weekend

I’ve had so much going on over the past few weeks that it feels like forever since I’ve spent the weekend at home in Surbiton. As we live so close to Twickenham, some friends from Australia ware staying with us after the England v Australia game and we used this as the perfect excuse to have a lazy weekend at home. We caught up with friends, drank lots of wine, and spent the Sunday afternoon eating rosemary focaccia whilst watching The Hobbit. Wild, I know.

Amsterdam

Another weekend, another hen party. The weekend before last saw 13 girls descend on Amsterdam for Bridget’s hen, and I was still suffering two days later! We spent Saturday afternoon cycling around Amsterdam on a Prosecco fuelled limo-bike tour, before a night of drinking (far too much) and dancing at Escape. And I might have skimmed over a few events that I’m not sure are blog appropriate… We had the best time and I’m so pleased it was everything Bridget wanted it to be.
